Angello Pagano van Amersfoort leads the team and is currently recruiting top innovation talent.

"My name is Angello Pagano van Amersfoort, born in Colombia and moved to the Netherlands at the age of 10. I grew up in the streets of Amsterdam, and it was a formational experience. I have studied geology at the faculty of Earth Sciences of the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. After 15+ years of working in the oil and gas industry on many challenging offshore technical projects and in multi-disciplinary teams,  I realized that I wanted to contribute to a better world, and made the change to focus my energy on sustainable projects and technological innovation.  I am enthusiastic about ideas and technological innovations that contribute to solutions for more sustainable practices on land and sea. Recently I have participated in projects for the Dutch Green Party, GreenPeace and mapping deforestation of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil  for the World Wildlife Fund. 

In addition, I have started my own consultancy company that aims to develop renewable energy from new geothermal technology in combination with mining rare earths needed to accelerate the green transition. Other projects include making GIS and Geoscience data-maps and visualisations for the screening and market strategy/potential for renewable energy in developing countries.

I also participate in the IRMA Initiative for Responsible Mining Expert Working Group on Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Climate Change. Here I inform on updates to the IRMA Standard for Responsible Mining. IRMA’s multi-stakeholder working groups bring together voices from diverse sectors to exchange perspectives, explore innovative strategies, and identify best practices, with the aim to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions.

Recently I have participated on the EWOR platform courses to successfully launch ideas into startups and I am a frequent follower of events from the Dutch startup platform Techleap.nl.  Currently I participate in the Camara Verde de Comercio Initiative and CleanTechHUB, which aims to connect and fortify startups creating  sustainable value chains. For personal development I have also finished a course on skills to become a changemaker type leader.

I enjoy walks in nature, swimming, reading, football, tennis, music,  traveling and pets.

I am a motivated kick-starter with a good sense of humor and I value caring for other people, curiosity, imagination and an adventurous spirit. Feeling the urgency to act now to keep  global temperature rise well below 1.5˚C!
